Some documents print, some documents do not

When you click to print forms or documents, some of them print, but others do not.

For example:  Checks print as expected, but invoices do not.

What is happening

Form and document printing are controlled by data stored in the Qbprint.qbp file. Data can be default data created by QuickBooks Desktop, or it can be custom data that you have entered by customizing documents. The Qbprint.qbp file is located at:

  • Windows 10/8/7, and Vista: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks (Version Number).

The data in the Qbprint.qbp can be corrupted, preventing QuickBooks Desktop from printing forms and documents correctly.

How to fix it

Rename the Qbprint.qbp file:

  1. Exit QuickBooks.
  2. Browse to the the folder containing the Qbprint.qbp file (see above).
  3. Right click on Qbprint.qbp and select Rename.
  4. Add a ".old" to the filename.extension.
  5. Start QuickBooks. QuickBooks will recreate the Qbprint.qbp file from default data.
  6. Click to print the form that was not printing previously.
  7. Reenter your custom printer preferences for all forms.
