Web site opens instead of Printer Setup when printing a report

When clicking Print Report and selecting the Report option in QuickBooks, a web site listing ProAdvisor opens instead of the Printer Setup window.

The web site will not allow you to select your print options and print the report.

How to fix it

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.             

Solution 1: Run Reboot.bat

Solution 2:  Temporarily change print settings

  1. Open the File menu, select Printer Setup
  2. Select Reports in the Form Name drop down
  3. Change the Printer Name to another printer that is installed
    • If other printers are not installed select Microsoft XPS Document Writer
  4. Click Ok
  5. Open the report and print to the temporary printer
    • If using the XPS Document Writer you can save the report with file name Test on your Desktop
  6. Repeat steps 1-4 and change Printer Setup back to the original printer for reports
  7. Reports will now print correctly with your preferred printer selected

Solution 3:  Download and run the QuickBooks PDF Repair Tool

Solution 4:  Clean Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks (only if the issue is occurring in all of your QuickBooks company files)
