When running a verify or backup with Advanced Inventory turned on, QuickBooks Desktop returns the message, QuickBooks detected problems with your company file. The QBWin.log file shows the following message:
Sum of item ITEM at site SITE on locations does not match quantity on hand stored at parent site
Item site rec num (XXX) qtyOnPO does not match
This issue is resolved in the latest release for QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions.
Important: Ensure that your QuickBooks is up to date before you follow the steps shown below.
Perform the basic data damaged troubleshooting.
Note: If the Rebuild process creates list entries with the word Rebuilt, please follow this KB SLN94212 to resolve the issue.
If you are on the latest release and you see the error message in the QBWIN.log, perform the following:
There are a set of inventory transfer transactions containing all positive qty for both "from" and "to" sites. The qty on the "from" site should be negative.
You will need the QBWin.log to reference what item to run the report against.
To find these transactions:
If you have multiple items in the QBWin.log file, you will need to perform steps 1 through 11 for each item listed.
If you continue to experience the same error in the QBWIN.log file, go to solution 3.
