Error: QBW32.EXE - Fatal Application Exit... when opening a Memorized Report

Opening a memorized report results in a message "QBW32.EXE - Fatal Application Exit - Aborting Application: QuickBooks is now terminating."  You may also experience a blank report after attempting to scroll.

Why this is happening

The report is trying to display too much information.

What you can try now

Change the Preferences under Reports & Graphs to Prompt to modify reports when opening:

  1. Choose Edit Preferences Reports & Graphs.
  2. Click the My Preferences tab.
  3. Check the box to Prompt me to modify report options before opening a report.
  4. Try to open the report again.
  5. Change the Preferences to a narrower range and click OK.

If the error still occurs, repeat steps 1 - 5 but choose a narrower date range.
