Missing reporting agent payroll tax forms

When attempting to e-file or print a payroll form, the option for a reporting agent form is missing. 

How to fix it

Intuit recommends 2 solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release

Solution 2: Get payroll updates

Reporting agent forms might be missing if the client's payroll service on the file is not Enhanced Payroll for Accountants.

  1. Open another file in the same version of QuickBooks Desktop that has Enhanced Payroll for Accountants.
  2. Get payroll updates in that file.
    1. From the Employees menu, click  Get Payroll Updates.
    2. In the Get Payroll Updates window, click Update.
  3. Open the previous file.

    The reporting agent forms should now be available.
