Cannot locate bank account when trying to open an account register

After clicking on the Register icon, you may not see the expected bank account listed.

How to fix it
  1. From the Lists menu, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Resort the Chart of Accounts list.  
  3. Select the Include Inactive checkbox.
  4. If account is showing as inactive, click the X at left side of account to reactivate it.
  5. If the bank account is not listed as an inactive account:
    1. Go to Edit menu and select Find.
    2. Search for a known check number from the expected account. If checks are found, double click on one of the checks and note what account is showing in the bank account field.
    3. Go to Lists > Chart of Accounts and view what account type is listed for the account.
    4. If the Type is not Bank, you will need to edit the account and change the account type to Bank.
      1. Right click on the account name and select Edit Account.
      2. Change the Account Type to Bank
      3. Click Save & Close.

Clicking on the Register icon will now have the bank account listed.
