Sync License Data Online is grayed out and unclickable

 When a user attempts to sync their license data via the Help menu, the option is grayed out and can not be selected.

Why this is happening

This can be due to a damaged installation of the program or a damaged entitlementdatastore.ecml file. 

How to fix it

Solution 1: Re-register important QuickBooks files.

Run reboot.bat.

Solution 2: Rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file.

Important: After renaming the EntitlementDataStore.ecml:

  1. Sync License Data Online by going to Help > Manage My License > Sync License Data Online
  2. Activate QuickBooks. 

Solution 3: Perform a Clean Install.
