Remote server returned error (407) Proxy Authentication Required when setting up Intuit Sync Manager

When you try to set up Intuit Sync Manager ,after entering the user id and password you get an error ,The remote server returned an error(407) Proxy Authentication Required.

Why this is happening

Your internet is set up to use a proxy server for LAN.  A proxy server is often used by companies to provide some level of security through Internet traffic monitoring and content filtering. Most web browsers provide proxy server setup options.


How to fix it

Solution: Turn off the proxy server

  1. In QuickBooks, choose Help, then select Internet connection Setup.
  2. Ensure that Use my computer's Internet connection settings to establish a connection when this application accesses the Internet is selected.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Advanced Connection Settings.
  5. Click Lan Settings.
  6. Under the Proxy server section, click Use proxy server for your LAN to clear the checkmark.
  7. Under the Automatic Configuration section, select Automatically detect settings.
  8. Click Ok, then try to sync again.
