White screen displays when you log into Appcenter after Intuit Data Protect update

You have updated Intuit Data Protect (IDP) to the latest release, but when you sign in to Appcenter to activate IDP, a white screen displays and it takes some time before the file list is loaded.

Previously, after update, the messages "Thank you for purchasing..." and "Please wait while loading..." were shown, rather than a blank white screen.

How to fix it

Solution: Clear your cache and temporary files, then run the IDP Diagnostics tool

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Clear your Internet Explorer temporary Internet files and cookies.
    The steps outlined in the linked article show you how to remove cookies; use the same steps to remove your temporary Internet files as well. 
  3. Follow the steps in Use the Intuit Data Protect Diagnostics Tool

When you complete the work with the IDP Diagnostics Tool and re-launch QuickBooks and IDP, you should see the "Thank you for purchasing..." and "Please wait while loading..." system messages, followed by your file list.
