Error: IBUEngHost.exe has stopped working, when you try to restore a backup with Data Protect

You attempt to use Intuit Data Protect to restore a backup and you receive the following error message:

IBUEngHost.exe has stopped working

Why is this happening

The issue can occur for the following reasons:

  • You may be on a 64-bit Windows Operating System
    Note: See how to check your Operating System here.
  • You have already performed a successful backup of more than 1GB
How to fix it

This issue is fixed in the latest release of Intuit Data Protect.  Please see Verify you have the latest update for Intuit Data Protect.
