One of the following error message appears when opening a QuickBooks Desktop file:
Important: Ensure QuickBooks Desktop is up to date. It is also recommended to install and run the QuickBooks File Doctor tool first before performing any of the following steps. If after using the tool and you still experience the issue, perform the following solutions in the order shown.
Note: Try rebooting the server and workstations before proceeding with other troubleshooting steps as this sometimes resolves these issues.
After trying each of the following solutions, try opening the company file on the computer where the error occurred. If it opens successfully, the issue is resolved. If the error still occurs, proceed to the next solution.
