Sync Error 5_8952

You receive the following Intuit Sync Manager error: Sync Error 5_8952.

How to fix it

Note: The solution steps provided here are available only in QuickBooks 2013 and later versions.

Before attempting the solution steps, be sure you are on the latest release of QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Update to the latest release web page.
    Important: Be sure your product is selected. If it isn't, click Choose a different product.
  2. Select and follow the instructions for one of the update options: Automatic or Manual.

Solution: Clear sync settings and set up the Intuit Sync Manager again
Estimated time: 5 minutes

Note: For larger data files, the sync process may take some time to complete.

Important:  This solution will completely reset your sync. This means that data already synced with the online business profile will no longer be available online. The data in your QuickBooks file will remain and will resync with your online profile.  Any data in your online business profile (Workplace Applications) that has not synced with QuickBooks will be lost.

  1. QuickBooks, choose Help > Manage Data Sync > Clear Sync settings to remove the sync settings from the company file. (This causes the company file to no longer sync to an online business profile.)
  2. Click Online Services and select Set Up Intuit Sync Manager. Then follow the instructions provided.

    : In QuickBooks 2013, Set Up Intuit Sync Manager option is available under File menu.
               From the File menu drop down select Set Up Intuit Sync Manager. Then follow the instructions provided.
