Warning: The report you are printing will be blank because there was no data to report on

When attempting to print or print preview, you receive the error:

Report can't fit on printed page
and/or
The report you are printing will be blank because there was no data to report on. Try adjusting or removing report filters.

There are some known causes for this:

  • The paper size is too small
  • One or more report filters is causing the report to display no data
  • If you are attempting to print a register the account may be inactive
  • The qbprint.qbp file is damaged
How to fix it

The Paper Size is too small

  1. From the Report, click the Print button.
  2. In the Print Report dialog box, click the Options button to the right of your printer.
  3. Click the Paper tab and make sure that it is either Letter or set to the dimensions of the paper.

Note: This step may vary depending on your printer driver.

One or more report filters is causing the report to display no data

  1. From the Report, click on the Modify Report button.
  2. Click on the Filters tab
  3. On the right, under Current Filter Choices, review the filter(s) to make sure they are not removing transactions that you want.

Attempting to print register of inactive account

  1. From the List menu, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Check Include inactive option at the bottom.
  3. Click the Account you wish to print from register.
  4. Click on X next to account name to make active again.
  5. From the Banking menu, select Use Register from the drop-down.
  6. Click the Print button at the top.
  7. Enter applicable Date Range and OK.
  8. Select desired printer settings.
  9. Click Print.

 The QBPrint.qbp file is damaged

Rename the QBPrint.qbp file.
