Install Hangs at Installing File FP_AX_MSI_Installer.exe or SP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.exe (Flash Player)

When installing QuickBooks you may see the progress hang when you get to the point in the progress string with the description “Installing Flash...” Status will show “Installing File FP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.exe.”  or  "Installing File SP_AX_MSI_INSTALLER.exe"
Installation hangs at this point.
Why this is happening

This is caused by a hidden warning box about the Flash version. The version issue that it refers to should not be a problem. All you need to do is get to this message window and click the OK button. 

QuickBooks is compatible with Flash Player ActiveX, version 10, but works with many other versions as well.
How to fix it

Intuit recommends 2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.
