Credit card charge not processed online after saving a credit card payment

The payment method type for the account may not be set to Credit Card.
Change the payment type on the payment method item.
How to fix it

To change the payment type on the payment method item:

  1. Open the Payment Method list:
    • QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Enterprise: Select the Lists menu and select Customer & Vendor Profile Lists > Payment Method List.
    • QuickBooks Simple Start: Select the Company menu and select Lists > Payment Method List.
  2. Double-click the payment method to edit it.
  3. Select the correct credit card Payment Type and click OK.
Note: To process the payment online, you must open the payment, and then save it again.
