Register ending balance does not match chart of accounts and/or balance sheet

When you compare the register's ending balance to the Chart of Accounts and/or Balance Sheet in QuickBooks Desktop, they do not match.

Why this is happening

Possible damaged account.

How to fix it
  1. Resort your Chart of Accounts.
  2. Close the company file and reopen.
  3. Merge original account into new account.
  4. If the issue persists, use standard data damage troubleshooting.
