QuickBooks Web Connector troubleshooting issues

You may have be having some troubles in importing your data from an online store/application through QuickBooks Web Connector.
When this happens, you may use the Intuit Hosted Service for testing purposes to ensure that your QBWC is connecting and working with your third party application/s.

How to fix the issue

How to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Launch QuickBooks.
  2. Open company file and log in as the administrator.
  3. Download the *.qwc file (QuickBooks Web Connector file).
    • The *.qwc file is configured to point to an Intuit-hosted test application (web service).
      When loaded in QuickBooks Web Connector, the web service window will show "Troubleshoot access via QuickBooks."
  4. Click the check box next to Troubleshoot access via QuickBooks and choose Update Selected.
    Remember to set the password field with the default code "password".
  5. While the test file is running, the Application Certificate should appear in QuickBooks. Choose the appropriate options and hit OK.
  6. Once the process is completed, QBWC will produce a log file.
  7. Click ViewLog to view/review the web service log and confirm that connection is successful.

Note: Successful connection would signify that the QuickBooks Web connector is working properly.

Should you be encountering further connection issue/s with QBWC and your third party apps,
you must address the concern directly to the company that provided the original QWC file and seek further assistance.
