Problems exporting from QuickBooks Desktop to Excel 2007

When exporting a report from QuickBooks Desktop to Excel 2007, you run into one or more of these issues:

  • Export is inaccurate or looks unusual (uneven line spacing, black lines, different fonts, etc)
  • Can export, but can't save or modify the report

  • You may see this problem if you're using a trial version of Microsoft Excel. In a trial version, at the top of the screen above the ribbon, you will see Excel 2007 (Trial).  A full version of Excel is necessary to save reports that are exported from QuickBooks. It is possible to export the report as a "comma separated values" (csv) file, which will then open in Excel.
