Unable to reconcile a bank account when logged in as an External Accountant

When logged in to a data file as an External Accountant, you cannot reconcile bank accounts. You see this error:

You need 'View' access underbank account to perform this action. Ask the QuickBooks Administrator to grant you this permission.

A conflict with the default permissions for the External Accountant user type is preventing you from reconciling the bank account.

How to fix it

To resolve this issue:

  1. Perform basic data damage troubleshooting.
  2. Log in as the External Accountant user and reconcile the bank account.
