Blank or incorrect information on donor reports

When running the report to show a Donor's contribution for a specific time period, the amount is overstated because it is not showing transactions that will reduce it.  The transactions are generally either Credit Memos or General Journal Entries and were used for returned NSF checks.

Detailed information

By default the Donor Contribution Summary report only shows two types of transactions, Payment and Sales Receipt.  For it to show other transactions we have to modify the report. To do this follow these instructions:

  1. From the Reports menu, select Non Profit Reports and click Donor Contribution Summary Report.
  2. Click Customize Report.
  3. Go to the Filters tab  and from the Filter list, choose TransactionType.
  4. Click the Transaction Types drop-down and select Multiple Transaction Types.
  5. In the Select Transaction Types window, choose the transactions you use to track Donor Contributions then click OK.
  6. Click OK again to close the Modify Report window.
  7. Click Memorize to save the report for future use.
