Error:You have used a different Customer ID to set up another QuickBooks account for online services

When attempting to set up an account for online banking, the following error message is displayed:
You have used a different Customer ID to set up another QuickBooks account for online services with this financial institution.
QuickBooks does not support the use of multiple Customer IDs for setting up multipleaccounts with the same financial institution.
The Customer ID you used previously is xxxx.
Please use this Customer ID to set up accounts with this financial institution.

 

Solution Description

To fix the issue, go to the Chart of Accounts and check for an account using the same information.

  1. From the Company menu, select Chart of Accounts.
  2. In the Chart of Accounts, make sure the online column is present.
    Note: The column is denoted by a lightning bolt.
  3. Locate any bank or credit card account with the lightning bolt and verify if it uses the same information as the account you are trying to set up.
  4. Right click the account and select Edit Account.
  5. Go to the Bank Feed Settings tab then click Deactivate All Online Services.
  6. Click Save & Close.
  7. Setup the correct account for online banking.
