Message When opening QuickBooks: QuickBooks automatic update has changed since the last time...

When opening QuickBooks the message appears:

QuickBooks automatic update has changed since the last time you used it. This could happen if you have updated it recently... do you want to allow it to access the network?
 

How to fix it
The message points to the fact that in this version of QuickBooks or a previous one, Automatic updates were set to install on the entire network, and prompts you to confirm whether or not you wish to continue installing them this way.
 
  • Click Yes on the message to allow updates to install on the entire network. This will download them to the server or host computer.
  • Click No to install updates only on the computer on which you are working.

Update options may also be set later from the Options tab of the Update QuickBooks dialog box. To do this:
 
  1. From the Help menu, select Update QuickBooks.
  2. Select the Options tab.
  3. Select Yes beside Shared download to download to and install from a shared location on the server or host computer.
  4. Select No beside Shared download to download to and install from the local hard drive.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Close.
