Bank Feeds Matched transactions reappear as Unmatched

When using Bank Feeds, you may notice that after matching unmatched transactions then reconciling the account, the downloaded transactions reappear as unmatched in the Bank Feeds Center. You cannot re-match them since they have appeared twice and were already reconciled (cleared) in QuickBooks Desktop. This only occurs when using Bank Feeds in Register Mode and will stop occurring if Bank Feeds is switched to Express Mode.
 
How to fix it

Intuit recommends two solutions for this issue.

Remove the transactions in Register Mode:

  1. From the Banking menu, select Bank Feeds > Bank Feeds Center.
  2. From the Financial Institution drop-down, choose your account.
  3. Click View to open the Match Transactions window.
  4. Match any transaction that have not been reconciled then click Done.
  5. Click Delete in the Bank Feeds window next to the Items Received From Financial Institution section.

Remove the transactions in Express Mode:

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  2. In the Company Preferences for Checking, select Express Mode then click OK.
  3. From the Banking menu, select Bank Feeds > Bank Feeds Center.
  4. In the Bank Accounts section, choose your account.
  5. Click Transaction List.
  6. Check off each transaction that needs to be removed, then select Ignore from the Batch Actions menu.

Note: Switching to Express Mode will prevent future occurrences of this issue.
