Qbwin.log: LVL_ERROR-error: Verify Account List Item ###: View out of sequence.

The following message appears in the QBWin.log file:
Qbwin.log Message: LVL_ERROR-error: Verify Account List Item ###: View out of sequence.
Verify Account List Item XXXX: Invalid sublevel X, validrange is X to X.
The account list is damaged, which is causing the accounts to appear in the wrong sequence.
How to fix it
  1. Run rebuild and verify. If verify fails with above error, continue on to resolve.
  2. Go to Lists > Chart of Accounts
  3. Click the Account button at the bottom of the window, then click Show Inactive Accounts.
  4. Click the Account button again and click Re-sort List.
  5. Check to see if all of the main account types are grouped correctly (all the income accounts are listed consecutively, etc.).
  6. If the account types are not grouped correctly so that main accounts appear as subaccounts of other main accounts (e.g., Other Current Asset appears as a subaccount of the Income account) or subaccounts appear as main accounts, you'll have to manually fix the accounts that are not in the correct groupings.
  7. To fix these accounts, right-click the account name and select Edit Account.
  8. Click to select the Subaccount of checkbox to change a subaccount to a main account, or to make a main account a subaccount.
  9. Click the drop-down arrow next to the checkbox and select the correct account type, and then click OK.
  10. Repeat steps 7 through 9 for all affected accounts.
