When you right click on an account in the Chart of Accounts to open its register, the following error is displayed::
Before you can access this account (Account Name), QuickBooks needs to verify that you have the correct permissions. You need to log out and then log in with the user name and password assigned by your system administrator.
If you can open this register normally, then your QuickBooks user list is damaged.
Important: Ensure that your QuickBooks is up to date and make a backup copy before you follow the steps shown below.
By switching you file to Single-User mode, you are making sure that no one is working in your file while performing troubleshooting steps to prevent further issues.
By changing the name and password, you are trying to refresh the right level permission of the Administrator account. If the issue persist, please proceed to solution 3.
Recreate the users and enter their passwords. If the issue persist, please proceed to solution 4.
