OverFlow appears in lists or in reports

The word Overflow appears in a report or list entry instead of an amount, and any subtotals or totals containing that amount also show as Overflow.

Why is this happening

There are several possible causes:

  1. An account balance or other field in your company file has an amount greater than $9,999,999,999,999.99.
  2. Damaged transactions in your company data file.
  3. When a large quantity on a Group Item is changed to another large quantity, Overflow can appear next to the Group's component items.
  4. You have an Inventory item with a value that is too large for the number of items. e.g., a quantity of 1 and a value of $18,000,000.
  5. The format you are copying from an Excel spreadsheet does not match a format that is accepted by QuickBooks.
How to fix it

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Prior to implementing any of the below solutions it is best practice to verify the Computer meets the system requirements. Things to look for are Regional Settings, Disk Space, and available RAM.  QuickBooks 2015 system requirements can be found here.
