After installing Database Server Manager, hosting services are not listed in Windows Services

After installing the Database Server Manager, the QuickBooksDBXX is not listed in the Services section of the Windows Computer Management Console or when launching the QuickBooks Database Server Manager the message appears:
  • QuickBooks Database Server Manager is not available. The QuickBooks Database Server Manager can not run until it has been set up on this computer.
Why this is happening
The Database Server Manager was not installed properly.
How to fix it

Reinstall the Database Server Manager

  1. Open Programs and Features to uninstall a software.
    1. On the keyboard, press the Windows logo + R. The Run dialog box opens
    2. Enter appwiz.cpl then click OK. The Program and Features window opens.
  2. Click on QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
  3. Select Uninstall / Change at the top of the window.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to Uninstall / Remove the program.
  5. Run windows in selective startup .
  6. Install the Database Server Manager as usual.
  7. If the issue persists, perform a clean installation of the Database Server Manager while in selective startup.



Below are the following QuickBooks desktop service for each year version.

  • QuickBooksDB27 (for QuickBooks 2017)
  • QuickBooksDB26 (for QuickBooks 2016)
  • QuickBooksDB25 (for QuickBooks 2015)
  • QuickBooksDB24 (for QuickBooks 2014)
