Some assets are not calculating the Prior or Accumulated Depreciation for Book Value in FAM

The Prior and Accumulated Depreciation field is showing zero for Book, although all other fields are calculating correctly.
How to fix it
Intuit recommends 2 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.

Solution 1: Recalculate the prior depreciation.
  1. Open the first asset with this problem. (ex: Asset 7)
  2. Click the Accumulated Depreciation field in the Book Value column.
  3. Click the Asset drop down menu, then select Recalculate Prior Depreciation.  Your asset should now reflect the correct Accumulated and Prior Depreciation.
  4. Click the Next Asset, then repeat these steps until all assets are correct.
  5. Click File and Save before leaving Fixed Asset Manager.

Solution 2: Toggle the depreciation method.

  1. Open the first asset with this problem. (ex: Asset 7)
  2. In the Depreciation Method field choose a different method.  For instance, if you currently have the asset set to Straight Line, change it to 200% DB.
  3. Left click the Asset Number field to save this change.
  4. Change your depreciation method back to your original method.  This will save these changes.
  5. Click Next Asset, then repeat these steps until all assets are correct.
  6. Click File and Save before leaving Fixed Asset Manager
