In multiuser mode, a timeout occurred when connecting to the company file

When you make a change in your company file, there is a problem in connecting to the company file and the change is not made.

Why this is happening

The computer running QuickBooks Server is probably overloaded.

How to fix it:

 Things you can try:

  • Close other applications running on the same computer.
  • Restart all computers that access QuickBooks.
  • Following the steps in this article.
  • Upgrading your RAM.
  • Condensing the company file.
  • If the problem persists, you may need to host the company file on a faster computer.
