QuickBooks Database Server Manager will not open from icon

You are able to open the QuickBooks Database Server Manager when you go through the Start and All Programs menu. When you click the QuickBooks Database Server Manager icon in the lower right corner of Windows Server 2008, it disappears without any message.

Why this is happening

The icon might disappear when the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) service is enabled on the Windows server and doesn't have QuickBooks files configured.

How to fix it

Important: These troubleshooting steps may help resolve your issue. They focus on the Windows operating system, which is not an Intuit product. Intuit recommends if you are not comfortable doing these steps on your own, you can find expert assistance by consulting your computer's manufacturer or a Windows expert. If the difficulty persists after performing these steps, contact your computer's manufacturer or Microsoft.

Solution: Configure Data Execution Prevention
Estimated time: 30 minutes
