Error: Invalid ShipRush database path... Key files are missing

When opening QuickBooks Shipping Manager, you see this error:

Invalid ShipRush database path...  Database is corrupt. Key files are missing

How to fix it

Solution: Rebuild Shipping Manager indices.

  1. Write down the full error message. The file folder path is very important. The path for QuickBooks 2014 and forward is
    Location: C:\Users\Windows user name\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\ShippingManager\Shipping Manager v4\Database.V4\
  2. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the path location specified in the error message.
  3. Right-click on the "Database.V4" folder, or the "Database.v", folder whichever is used.
  4. In the pop-up menu, choose "Cut."
  5. Paste the folder to a temporary location, such as your desktop.
  6. Repair QuickBooks.
  7. After QuickBooks has been repaired, reopen QuickBooks.
  8. Open Shipping Manager. Choose File menu > Shipping, and then choose the appropriate option.
  9. At this point, you should see a message that Shipping Manager is "rebuilding indices." Let this complete.
  10. After the rebuild is done, Shipping Manager should function normally. You may need to follow the instructions to set it up.
