When you try to update a file that has been synced with an online program from an older version of QuickBooks Desktop to a newer version of QuickBooks, you see the following error message:
If the company file is set up to sync data through Intuit Sync Manager, QuickBooks Desktop tries to perform a sync before it updates to the new version. If the sync fails, the update cannot continue.
If you receive this error message when updating your file try one of the following options:
Restore a backup, turn Sync Manager off, and try again.
Right-click the Sync Manager icon in your System Tray and choose Exit Sync Manager
Move the file to a local computer and then update to your new version of QuickBooks.
