Error 1406: Could not write value "" to key ""
This error can be caused by:
Solution 1: Temporarily disable anti-virus and/or other security software
If your firewall or anti-virus has recently pushed an update, try temporarily disabling the software. (The exact steps to disable vary by product and manufacturer. Please check your anti-virus help menu for the specific steps for your program.)
Anti-virus software can also be disabled by performing the installation in Selective Startup.
Important: Following a successful installation, be sure to re-enable your anti-virus or return to normal startup
Download and run the QuickBooks Installation Diagnostic Tool
If the tool does not resolve the issue, you may have existing registry damage. Make sure the Administrator and SYSTEM groups have Full Control access to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStor registry key and make sure that the owner of this key and all sub keys is set to the Administrators group.
