The following error occurs when converting Point of Sale v3.0 to a newer version:

Why this is happening

A process running in the background (reconst.exe) on your system might be preventing the POS v3.0 file from converting properly. The error message displays a DVS: Range check error message if you click the Detail button in the message.


How to fix it

  1. Open the Windows Task Manager and minimize it:
    1. Right-click the clock in the lower right corner of the system tray.
    2. Choose Task Manager from the short-cut menu.
    3. Click the Minimize button in the upper right to minimize the window.
  2. Start the conversion of the POS v3.0 file again.
  3. Click the Windows Task Manager button in the task bar to open the window .
  4. Click the Processes tab and find the reconst.exe process.
  5. Click the process to select it and then click End Process.
  6. Click Yes to the warning message that appears, and then click the Close button to close the Task Manager.

The conversion should continue without error.
