Error: Unable to review Accountant's changes

When importing the accountant's changes, the following error occurs:

Unable to review Accountant's changes. Please call Intuit Technical Support.
Why this is happening

QuickBooks is unable to read the .QBY (Accountant's changes) file stored on an external drive.

How to fix it

To resolve this issue copy the .QBY file to a local hard drive:

  1. Right-click the Microsoft Windows Start button, and select Explore.
  2. Navigate in the left window to the CD-ROM that contains the CD with the accountant's changes.
  3. Right-click the QBY file on the CD and select Copy.
  4. Close this window and then right-click on the Windows desktop. Select Paste to copy the file to the desktop.
  5. Right-click the QBY file on the desktop and select Properties.
  6. In the Attributes section, clear the Read-only checkbox and then click OK.
