Qbwin.log: LVL_ERROR--Error: Verify Online Account Information: Invalid Customer ID number

A data utility does not complete and the Qbwin.log file shows this error:

LVL_ERROR--Error: Verify Online Account Information: Invalid Customer ID number--> Record = XXX.

Why this is happening

This error is caused by an invalid Customer ID for an account setup with online services, such as online banking.

How to fix it

Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try both of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.             

Solution 1:

Correct the Customer IDs on accounts set up for online services in the Chart of Accounts.

  1. Click Company > Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click on the affected online-enabled bank account and select Edit.
    • Note: Online-enabled accounts are identified by a highlighted lightning bolt in your Chart of Accounts.
  3. Click the Online Services tab.
  4. Correct the Customer ID.
  5. Click Save & Close.
  6. Run the same data utility to ensure the changes to the customer IDs allow the process to complete.

Solution 2:

Check for and correct possible list damage.
