Qbwin.log: verify list memorized report: unable to read record XX

When the verify fails and you open the Qbwin.log file, you see the following message:

Memorized Report: Unable to read record XX. It is either missing or damaged.

Why this is happening

You may see this message if a your memorized report is damaged or missing information.

When this happens, the Qbwin.log file displays something similar to the following: "LVL_ERROR--Memorized Report recnum 33 (Inventory Stock Status for Reordering) could not find formatting data. recnum 31" In this example, the memorized report title is "Inventory Stock Status for Reordering."

How to fix it

To resolve this issue, rebuild the company file to remove the damaged memorized reports:

  1. Run the Rebuild Data utility.
  2. Run the Verify Data utility.

If Verify Data completes successfully, recreate the deleted memorized reports as needed.

If Verify Data stops and reports "Unable to complete process," open the Qbwin.log and note all of the damaged memorized reports. Then continue with the following steps.

Delete each damaged memorized report manually from the Memorized Report list.

  1. Select the Reports menu and select Memorized Reports > Memorized Report List.
  2. Select a damaged memorized report that you noted from the Qbwin.log file.
  3. Click the Memorized Report button.
  4. Select Delete Memorized Report and click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to delete all damaged memorized reports that display in the Qbwin.log.
  6. Run the Rebuild Data utility.
  7. Run theVerify Data utility.

If Verify Data completes successfully, recreate the deleted memorized reports and run as needed.
