When you delete an account and then try to open a QuickBooks Desktop company file, you see this message:
Unrecoverable Error: QuickBooks has experienced a problem and must be shut down. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you choose, you can report the error you have just experienced to the Intuit Product Development team to help us investigate and eliminate the problem. Code: 7151
Alternatively, QuickBooks Desktop may appear to be nonresponsive. After several minutes in this state, this error message will occur.
When an account is marked for deletion, QuickBooks determines the number of times the account has been reconciled. That function is returning a value greater than 50 million due to a specific type of damage in your data file.
Updating to the latest release for your version of QuickBooks Desktop may resolve this issue.
