Intuit has created a special program to authorize certain Commercial hosting companies, Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, and Intuit Solution Providers to deliver authorized remote hosting services (often called application service provider or "ASP" services) to their respective customers who have purchased valid QuickBooks licenses for each product and user. Each Hosting company is solely responsible for the security, privacy and availability of their hosting services, and Intuit does not endorse, certify or guarantee their services.
This program is designed for independent professional data centers and remote hosting companies to provide application hosting services to end users, accountants, bookkeepers and other entities who wish to install and access their QuickBooks Desktop software via a remote hosting facility.
To become an Intuit-Authorized Hosting company, firms must undergo an application process as well as an independent third-party accreditation, and then, if invited to participate, enter into a licensing and distribution agreement with Intuit. There are set up fees, an accreditation fee and ongoing program participation fees, which entitle the participant to host QuickBooks for its customers and also to receive an "Intuit Authorized Hosting" mark for use on its web site and in approved collateral materials. Additionally, participants can take advantage of special volume license purchasing discounts and a QuickBooks software license subscription program.
Each commercial host is solely responsible for the security, privacy and availability of their hosting services, and while Intuit will require a third-party accreditation for each host and will authorize specific hosts to host QuickBooks software through this program, Intuit does not endorse, certify, sponsor or guarantee their services. Additionally, commercial hosts are required to have a separate, written agreement with their customers which governs the customers' use of the hosting services.
Commercial Host Application Process
This program is designed for Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors and Certified Intuit Solution Provider members who wish to create and manage their own local hosting environment solely for their clients (who have valid QuickBooks licenses for each product and user).
Each accounting firm is solely responsible for the security, privacy and availability of their hosting services, and Intuit does not endorse, certify or guarantee their services. Firms are required to have a written agreement with their clients governing the hosting services, and are encouraged to follow prudent data security, server reliability and privacy practices. There is a small initial set up fee which entitles firms to participate in Intuits Self Host forum board to share best practices and get help with hosting questions from other participants.
