Loan Manager data does not transfer when converting between nonconsecutive versions of QuickBooks

When converting Loan Manager (LM) files, the conversion tool always looks for LM files from the previous version of QuickBooks. It will not look for earlier versions.

For example, you may have updated from QuickBooks 2014 to QuickBooks 2016 and skipped the update to QuickBooks 2015.

Detailed information

Step 1: Restore your Loan manager Information:

  1. Close QuickBooks and find your QuickBooks Data File.
  2. When a backup created in QuickBooks 2007 and later or Enterprise Solutions 7.0 and later is restored, it will include all the additional files in a folder called Restored__Files, where is your QuickBooks company file. This folder is in the same location as your restored QuickBooks company file. Loan Manager files are saved to the folder Miscellaneous inside of the Restored__Files folder.
  3. Copy the Loan Manager (.lmr) files to the same directory as your .qbw file.
  4. Open QuickBooks and launch Loan Manager.

Step 2: Reactivate reminders:

  1. Select the Loan and click the Edit Loan Details button.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Change the Due Date of Next Payment to another date and click the OK button.
  4. Select the same Loan and repeat steps 1 through 3, changing the date to the correct Due Date.
  5. Click OK.

Note: You have to perform these steps on each of the loan listed in Loan Manager
