It is always a good idea to make sure you update your DirectX drivers and your video card drivers to maintain peak computer performance for QuickBooks Desktop.

Important: Some of these steps may be a bit complex, if you run into any problems or issues, please reach out to your IT Professional or Computer Manufacturer.

Update DirectX drivers
  1. Go to Microsoft's DirectX download page and click the Download button.
  2. Once the download is complete, run the file to install the latest DirectX drivers to your system.

Follow the steps below when complete to update the Video Card drivers as well.

First, you need to know what video card you have before you update the driver:

  1. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
  2. Type dxdiag and press Enter.
