Disable Intuit Data Protect

This article describes the process of disabling Intuit Data Protect.

Disabling IDP will resolve issues such as:

  • IDP window that continues to launch, even when it is not in use.
  • IDP that needs to be transferred to another host computer.
Detailed instructions
  1. Ensure that QuickBooks and Intuit Data Protect are updated to the most recent release.
  2. If there is an active subscription, perform the following steps. If there is no active subscription, proceed to step 3:
    1. From the System Tray, right click Intuit Data Protect icon and select About Intuit Data Protect.
    2. The About Intuit Data Protect window will open. Press CTRL+F2 to open the IDP Diagnostic tool.
    3. Click Log out.
  3. Restart the computer.
