Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks Web Connector (QBWC)

QuickBooks Web Connector (QBWC) is a software application that runs on Microsoft Windows and enables specially designed web-based applications
to exchange data wit QuickBooks products.

Note: For every possible errors that you may encounter in your Web Connector application, there are corresponding troubleshooting steps to follow.
And in most cases, Uninstalling and Reinstalling the program is a crucial part of (some) troubleshooting steps to ensure having a clean copy of the app.

Uninstall and Reinstall Process

Listed below are the steps to follow:

  1. Secure the QWC file from the third party application that is linked with the customer's QuickBooks product.
    NOTE: Ask your customer to download a copy of the QBW file from their subscribed third party application.
    The file must be saved in the computer. You may also opt to save a copy of the file in an external drive.
    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the file is saved in the right location (preferably in the C Drive).
    Take note of the path (for future reference as well).
  2. Close Web Connector.
  3. In Windows Start menu, go to Control Panel.
  4. Inside Control Panel, choose Programs, then click Programs and Features.
  5. Right click on the Web Connector program and choose Uninstall to remove the program.
  6. Go to the Web Connector online site to get the download link for the application.
    NOTE: You will see three download links on the site. Choose the one that is compatible with your QuickBooks version.
    Once you have downloaded the link, you will be prompted to either Run or Save the .exe file.
  7. Install (reinstall) Web Connector.
  8. Once the program is reinstalled, upload the QWC file. The file will be automatically integrated with QuickBooks.
  9. Test to check if the process is successful.
