Repair or reinstall Microsoft Office products

Sometimes while troubleshooting QuickBooks Desktop issues it may be necessary to repair Microsoft Office if you have errors relating to Excel integration, Payroll Excel reports, emailing through Outlook, or Word letter template problems.

 

Detailed Instructions

Solution 1: Repair Office programs

  1. See the Microsoft article Repair Office programs for detailed steps on repairing your Microsoft Office installation.
  2. Once you have completed the repair, return to QuickBooks Desktop and see if the issue has been resolved.

Solution 2: Clean install Office Programs

If solution 1 (repairing Office) does not resolve the issue, you may need to consult Microsoft or your IT professional to perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of your Office installation. Since these steps are more complex than repairing Office, Intuit does not support or walk customers through these steps.
