Alternate method for changing the email and login name linked to a service

At times you may find the need to update the email address attached to your login linked to your account by a different method. This is not the notification email but a more secure email that is actually involved with the login for the merchant account identification. This would include logins for the Merchant Service Center as well as other services.

This change can be performed online from within your Intuit small business center.

Once the new email is submitted, that email will become the new login name (see note below).

This will not change your notification email.

 

 

Detailed instructions

1. Go to the Intuit Small Business Center

2. Click on the How do I Update my e-mail address link.
    NOTE: If this link does not immediately appear, you may need to login. This would be the login currently used to access your merchant account in the Merchant Service Center.

 

3. A new window then appears with your existing email address. Enter the password (if prompted) and the new email address and confirm the new email address. Click Next (OK) to complete the process.
    IMPORTANT: The login will also be changed to match the new email for any services linked to the previous email.
     If you do not want the login to be changed click the Have A different Login name? link shown just below the Current e-mail field. This will display the Use new e-mail address as my login name checkbox. if you do not check this box, only the email address will be changed and the login will not be made the same as the new email.

NOTE:  If the following error is received: 
The login name jessika@notarealemail.com is already taken. Please try a different login
that email will not be available for use via this process. A new, unique email will need to be submitted.
