Return to the initial sign in screen for Intuit Data Protect (IDP)

There are a variety of reasons why you may need to return to the initial sign in screen for Intuit Data Protect (IDP).

Some examples are as follows:

  • You previously cancelled an existing subscription and decided to subscribe to a new IDP and you use the same Intuit account credentials.
  • You were setting up or restoring files using IDP but you only see a black or transparent screen.
  • You need to remove old and unwanted files from your backup list.
Detailed instructions

To return to the initial sign in screen, run the IDP Diagnostic Tool and select the Log Out funciton. Please go to Troubleshoot Intuit Data Protect issues and errors to learn more.

If the diagnostics tool does not fix your issue, please see A blank screen appears when activating or using Intuit Data Protect (IDP) and follow the steps in Solution 2.

Note: Use of IDP with multiple windows profiles is not supported.  Please install IDP in the Admin Profile and use it with that profile.
