Merge online bank or credit card accounts with the exact same bank name

You need to merge two online bank/credit card accounts then set up the new account to download transactions from the exact same bank as the old account.

Detailed instructions
Important
  • Make sure there are no active statements in the Online Bank Feeds Center for the account before you start to merge them.
    • If there are pending transactions, you must delete them.
    • If there are downloaded transactions that have not been matched, you must match them before moving on to the next step.
     
  • You cannot set up two accounts to download transactions from the same bank, therefore when you merge accounts in this situation, you must deactivate the online services for the old account before you set up the new account for online banking.
     
  • If you are merging accounts because your bank has changed names or because you are switching from Direct Connect to Web Connect, please see Merge online bank or credit card accounts to change the bank name or the way you connect.

 

Follow these steps to merge accounts that are set up for online banking or other online services.

  1. Deactivate online services for the old account.
    1. From the Company menu, click Chart of Accounts.
    2. Right click the account and select Edit.
    3. Go to the Bank Feed Settings tab.
    4. Select the radio button for Deactivate All Online Services.
    5. Click Save & Close.
  2. Rename the old account with the name of the new account you need to merge.
    1. Right click the old account and select Edit.
    2. In the Account Name field, type the name of the new account.
    3. Click YES when you get the Merge warning dialog box.
  3. Set up the merged account for online banking.
