DPI display issues in various parts of QuickBooks Desktop when using high resolution display

The QuickBooks Desktop display is affected by your Microsoft Windows resolution and font settings. If these settings are not optimized, you may see:

  • A transaction form does not fit on the screen.
  • The sizing icons at the top right of a window do not appear.
  • A field overwrites and hides its label.
  • Missing buttons. 
  • Screen is distorted when you maximize or minimize it.
  • The fonts are too big.
  • Paid status (stamp) is cut off or truncated on Invoices.
  • Home Page is blank.

To correct your QuickBooks display, you may need to adjust your font, screen resolution, or other Windows settings (such as DPI).

 Latest Update:

Some issues customers were experiencing were resolved in version QuickBooks 2017.  After much deliberation we have decided that this issue will not be fixed at this time in older QuickBooks versions. 


For remaining issues related to DPI, we are still investigating for possible root causes and solutions. At this time we do not have any additional information to provide. We will provide more information on 11/30/2017.
