Intuit Data Services: Download your data file from the Intuit File Exchange

You may download your data file once you receive an email from Intuit Data Services. The email contains instructions, as well as a Readme.doc file outlining the steps needed to download your company file and start working with it.

Important: Please note that the repaired file returned to you by Data Services will become your new working company file. Therefore any entries previously made while work was in progress will need to be reentered into the repaired file returned by Data Services.

Detailed instructions

Download your repaired file from the Intuit Data Services web site:

  1. Sign in to the Intuit File Exchange web site.
    • Enter your Case number.
    • Enter your e-mail address.
    • Enter your PIN number.
      Important: PIN numbers are case sensitive. If you have forgotten or misplaced your PIN, please contact technical support and they will provide you with a new PIN.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Browse to the location where you want to save your file.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Download the Readme.doc file. This file contains information you need to begin using your repaired file. Save both your data file and the Readme.doc file in a convenient location.
  6. If you use QuickBooks for Windows, your data file may have the extension of .qbm, denoting a portable company file. If so, convert the downloaded portable company file to a full company file.
