This article is intended for use when you encounter problems not covered in specific troubleshooting articles for setting up online banking. For example, if writing a check causes your program to freeze or stop working. Follow the steps in order for best results. This document assumes you have already completed the steps in Set up online banking in QuickBooks Help.
If the setup wizard freezes during setup, ensure your cookies are turned on in Internet Explorer:
Does your bank account have either a Lightning Bolt or is there an Online Services Tab if you edit the Account? If you can answer Yes to either question, follow these steps:
To remove the Lightning Bolt,
Verify the Online Service tab is no longer available.
Once you have a bank account without the Lightning Bolt or the Online Services Tab, you will be ready to setup Online Banking with either Direct Connect or Web Connect depending on which method your FI supports.
